It is so close, in fact, that the organisers will now have to determine who between the defending champions //Kharas and Zambezi go through as they both top the log on 5 points and a plus one goal difference.

The two sides drew 0-0 in an uninspiring match of few chances on a hot Saturday morning.

Zambezi had the better chances in the first half, but Mulonga Munzenze, Feka Mwilima and Mwangala Mwiya all squandered clear chances.

In the second half Kharas keeper Nelly Rooi saved well from Mwiya, while he also brought off a diving save from Munguni Chizabulyo.

//Kharas however had few chances, with a weak header by Eugene Fredericks the best they could offer.

Kharas defender Hermanus Pofadder won the player of the match award.

In another Group A match, Otjozondjupa and Kavango West drew 0-0, which leaves them out of the running to make the knockout stages.

Giovanni Gaingob nearly scored in the first minute but Kavango West goalie Daniel Kangayi brought off a diving save. They continued to attack with Gaingob heading narrowly over the bar, while Kangayi was in fine form, with some diving saves to deny Gustav Kaeka and Joao Dacosta.

At the other end, Otjozondjupa keeper Ripuree Naeb brought off a fine diving save from Domenikus Sipombo, but Otjozondjupa had more chances and nearly won the match when a shot from a goal mouth scramble was cleared off the line by Tadeus Mbundu.

Both teams are now out of the running for the knockout stages, with Otjozondjupa on 3 points and Kavango West one 1 point.

Otjozondjupa defender Kavehungua Kavita won the player of the match award.

For More News And Analysis About Namibia Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Namibia.
