Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The Nedbank for Autism Series kicked off with the first of its back-to-back events at the Rossmund Golf Course on Saturday, with the next two events slated for Henties Bay and Walvis Bay in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

The 10-round golf series got underway at the Rossmund Golf Course on Saturday and will see its next competition taking place at the Henties Bay Golf and Lifestyle Estate on Saturday, 3 September. It will conclude at the Walvis Bay Golf Club on Saturday, 10 September.<\/p>\n

The series, which is in its third year, aims to reinforce the awareness of the Autism Association of Namibia, which is an organisation made up of parents, and their children with autism, adults with autism and professionals who are interested in promoting the well-being of persons with autism spectrum disorders within Namibia.<\/p>\n

The competition also aims to provide a network between the various autism organisations world-wide. The main aim is to provide support and assistance as well as training in the field of autism to parents and professionals.<\/p>\n

Series organiser Dan Zwiebel expressed his delight when asked about organising three back-to-back events.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeeing the growth of the Nedbank for Autism Series alone already motivates me to go above and beyond in making sure we deliver our outmost best when it comes to the preparations of these events. Seeing the incredible impact we have had on the autism community brings me nothing but joy and drives me to deliver my outmost best with these golf events because I have witnessed the immense joy it brings,\u201d Zwiebel said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur first tee for the Nedbank for Autism Series took place three years ago, and we have been on an upward trajectory since then. Although we had to take a short intermission during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic last year, we made sure to continue addressing the importance of autism awareness through the series, which has gotten bigger and better as we progress. By being money experts who do good, we will keep on pushing for greater awareness for autism, and make sure the proceeds from the series are utilised to improve the awareness of the association,\u201d added Nedbank Namibia\u2019s communications manager Selma Kaulinge.<\/p>\n

The series will later continue at the Windhoek Golf and Country Club on Saturday, 1 October, with the final set to take place at the Omeya Golf Club on Friday, 18 November.<\/p>\n
