Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>GALACTICOS and Santastico both recorded big victories in the first round of the Express Credit Futsal Summer League that got underway over the weekend.<\/p>\n

GALACTICOS and Santastico both recorded big victories in the first round of the Express Credit Futsal Summer League that got underway over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Galacticos thumped Windhoek Show Society 7-1, while Santastico beat Wolves Futsal Club by the same score to go to the top of the log.<\/p>\n

Windhoek Show Society was one of the teams promoted to the Premier League from the first division and got off to a good start as they took the lead through Sergio Damaseb.<\/p>\n

Galacticos, however, equalised when WSS goalie Lenga Johannes failed to control a backpass and Robert Izak nipped in to stab the loose ball home, while Galacticos took a firm grip of the match with two goals in two minutes just before halftime.<\/p>\n

First, Jason Coetzee scored after a fine counterattack launched by Reginald Willemse, while another error by Johannes, who failed to clear a backpass by Damaseb suddenly put Galacticos 3-1 up at halftime.<\/p>\n

WSS still had their chances after the break with a shot by Clary Kitenge hitting the upright, but Galacticos caught them on the counter, with Willemse playing an influential role.<\/p>\n

He scored two more goals in the second half, while Graham Vries and Eliphas Owoseb added one each as Galacticos got off to a strong start.<\/p>\n

Santastico, who previously played under the name Dunder Mifflin in the First Division, also got off to a strong start in their debut season in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

They beat another newly-promoted team Wolves Futball Club 7-1, with Bradley Geraldo scoring a hattrick, Talbott Mtombeni two goals, and Alexander Tjiera and Ralohwin Hanse one goal each.<\/p>\n

Chile Futsal also got off to a strong start with a 7-3 victory against Ballers FC, while the X Men beat Windhoek North 5-3.<\/p>\n

There were also wins for SBS Trucking, who beat The Mavericks 3-2, and Quality FC who beat Replica FC 3-2.<\/p>\n

In Men’s First Division matches, Ineos Grenadier FC beat Lithon Football Consultants 3-1, Flying V beat Single Boys FC 8-1, Minerals FC beat Ark United 7-2, Basics FC beat Never Give Up FC 3-0, Iipumbu Shiimi FC beat<\/p>\n
