CANDIDATES vying for top positions in Swapo last week visited Kavango East and West to Canvass for support at the 7th elective congress set for November.<\/p>\n

The minister of environment Pohamba Shifeta, prime minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila and deputy prime minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, are vying for vice president of the party.<\/p>\n

Alsdo campaigning were incumbent party secretary-general Sophia Shaningwa and<\/p>\n

Omusati regional coordinator Armas Amukwitu are fighting for the secretary-general position.<\/p>\n

Kavango West regional coordinator David Hamutenya, former deputy minister of environment Uahekua Herunga, Evelyn Nawases-Taeyele who all want the deputy SG’s post, were also in the mix.<\/p>\n

Lucia Witbooi did not attend the roadshow.<\/p>\n
