Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>After months of battling it out on the court, young tennis players from across the country, who have proven themselves to be the best in the game, converged this past weekend to crown the ultimate masters in the Trustco NTA Junior Masters Tournament 2022.<\/p>\n

President of the Namibian Tennis Association (NTA) Samson Kaulinge was impressed with the level of sportsmanship of the Namibian youth, adding that the girls\u2019 U\/12 team qualified to participate in the African Championships in Mozambique.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m impressed with the standard of tennis this year. Very young tennis players are putting up very good performances, and I\u2019m happy from the Namibia Tennis Association\u2019s side. The standard is going up. I\u2019m also happy to see children from the coast and children from Okahandja doing quite well in this tournament. It\u2019s not only tennis players from Windhoek who are competing,\u201d Kaulinge said.<\/p>\n

The Trustco NTA Junior Masters Tournament is the final junior tournament of the year.<\/p>\n

Kaulinge explained all players up to rank eight were given a chance to compete in the tournament to determine who is the best for the year.<\/p>\n

The tournament comprised five categories, which include boys and girls U\/10, U\/12, U\/14, U\/16 and U\/18.<\/p>\n

In each category, eight boys and girls battled it out on the court.<\/p>\n

The president said the association hosts matches at least twice a month, starting from January to October.<\/p>\n

In the final month, the best eight players from different regions are selected to compete.<\/p>\n

Kaulinge thanked Trustco Group Holdings, saying the company has been unwavering in its support for the development of tennis in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very happy with the support we got from Trustco. For many years now, Trustco has been a very good supporter of tennis in Namibia. So, we are happy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
