Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE Namibia Rugby Union will host an open session coaches seminar on Friday to promote cohesion and streamline domestic rugby philosophies within the fraternity.<\/p>\n

The speakers are all involved in coaching at national team level led by Welwitschias head coach Alistair Coetzee.<\/p>\n

His assistant Chrysander Botha will tackle the attack and kicking aspect, with Barend Pieterse covering the forwards game on line-outs and maul.<\/p>\n

Johan Pienaar will address the defence, with Sergio De La Harpe tasked with strength and conditioning, while Coetzee will do \u201cthe blueprint on how they want to play and what they want to achieve at the World Cup 2023\u201d .<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to share the coaching philosophy and styles that these people tend to use, what they want to achieve in the end, and our path going forward,\u201d said rugby union vice president Johan Diergaardt, who will present the introduction to the coaching forum.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings like how to become a club or national team coach, and the different levels of coaching, which are level one, two and three.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll this is important information that is being given through to coaches, players and generally people in the rugby fraternity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also on the programme is a briefing from Oscar Lambert of the referees association and William Steenkamp, who will be talking about the Get Into Rugby project.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s just nice for the hype for the people who will leave for Europe on a two-test tour, playing Spain and Canada. It’s our kick off to our world cup campaign, preparing and getting all our people involved,\u201d Diergaardt said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn Saturday morning, chairmen of the different clubs will get together for an information session to see how far we’re and where we’re off to from hereon, the programmes for next year and just getting everybody involved and making them part of the decision.\u201d<\/p>\n
