The winds began and soon after it was rain and hail. It grew so intense; we had to run and hide indoors. But it got even scarier because while inside we could feel the structures being uprooted from the foundation. We had to hold tightly onto whatever we could get our hands on &#8211; the beds and some furniture. It all happened so fast &#8211; not longer than five minutes. The walls came crumbling down and roofs flew off, and then it stopped.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Seven households were affected, five of them severely.<\/p>\n<p>Paulina Hembala&#8217;s homestead had all four of its structures, including huts, destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have to start all over. My children and other family members will soon be coming home for the festive season, but they will find no roofs over their heads. Our roofing sheets were blown away by the wind. We can see some of them hanging from trees far off,&#8221; explained Hembala.<\/p>\n<p>Oshikunde constituency councillor Lornia Shinana has appealed to good Samaritan to assist the affected families.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have families whose homes were destroyed by the storm. Our people have been left destitute &#8211; they need to rebuild their houses and their food was damaged.
