Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Struggling Tigers FC head coach Mekondjo Naholo has vowed to deliver a much-improved performance when they face an in-form Orlando Pirates today at the Khomasdal stadium at 19h00, saying there is still room to resuscitate their campaign.<\/p>\n

After six rounds of matches in the Debmarine Namibia Premiership League, Tigers have so far only recorded one win, one draw and four defeats, which has left them lingering in 13th place towards the bottom of the 16-team log table with four points.<\/p>\n

That is a worrying situation that Naholo plans to overturn with a win against Pirates in today\u2019s encounter, saying although it will not be an easy one, his charges are well prepared and he fully understands the assignment at hand.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is going to be a tough one against a new-look Pirates \u2013 but as a team, we have to do what we can to collect those three vital points. It is important that we win this match, as it will go a long way in turning our fortunes around. I am positive and believe in my players because they have what it takes to get the job done. We will be ready for Pirates; that I can promise you and all our fans,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In terms of pressure, the gaffer admitted it is frustrating to himself and the players enduring a run of six league games and just posting one win, but said interventions are currently in place to change the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is massive pressure that we have and for a big team like ours, we really need to revive ourselves by winning these kinds of encounters. It hasn\u2019t been a good start for the team but I am very much content that if we stick to our game plan, we can come out victorious after the 90 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, African Stars mentor Mervin Mbakera also outlined his plans at a press conference yesterday in the capital as they prepare to face an unpredictable Young Brazilians side at the J. Stephanus Stadium in Keetmanshoop tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Mbakera, who also announced he has roped in club stalwarts Andrew Tjahikika to do scouting and analysis as well as Jamunovandu Ngatjizeko as his assistant, said the plan going to Keetmanshoop remains the same \u2013 to collect points at all costs and avoid dropping points.<\/p>\n

Also in tomorrow\u2019s league action, Citizens will take on Civics at the Khomasdal stadium, while Julinho Sporting will square off against Life Fighters at the Rundu stadium.<\/p>\n

Unam will also be in action tomorrow when they welcome Tura Magic at the Unam stadium.<\/p>\n
