Africa-Press<\/a> – Namibia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Paulinus \u2018John John\u2019 Ndjolonimus proved to be the better boxer when he floored challenger Anthony Jarmann in the second round of his WBO Africa super middleweight belt defence.<\/p>\n

The rematch between the two lanky boxers was the main bout of the MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias \u201cTogether as One\u201d Part 4 boxing bonanza staged at the Windhoek Country Club and Resort on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

Unlike their previous fight in April this year when Ndjolonimus waited till the last round to stop Jarmann, this time he won convincingly in the second round with a left jab and right straight combination to the head that sent Jarmann to the canvas in a daze.<\/p>\n

From the get-go, Ndjolonimus hit his target with accurate jabs and did not slow down as he kept landing hard punches, leading Jarmann to stumble at various occasions.<\/p>\n

The beginning of the second round saw Jarmann, who seemed to lack confidence right from the start, firing a few decent shots. But he could not sustain that, leaving a composed Ndjolonimus to capitalise and put him on the back foot.<\/p>\n

In the post-match interview, a thrilled Ndjolonimus said he took up the rematch to prove that he did not win their previous encounter by luck.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard people saying, Ndjolominus won the match-up by luck. So, when I was asked if I can fight him again or move forward, I said I will have to fight him again to prove my point,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Promoter and trainer Nestor Tobias said heading forward, it would be about giving his boxers greater opportunities to fight and continue improving their rankings.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will keep on giving our boxers the opportunity to fight for better titles, and improve on their world ranking for them to stand a better chance to challenge for world titles. John John did his part, and I am also going to do my part as a promoter to get better ratings at the WBO,\u201d Tobias stated.<\/p>\n

In the main supporting bout, Philipus \u2018Energy\u2019 Nghitumbwa defeated South Africa\u2019s Innocent Mantengu to claim the WBO Global super bantamweight title.<\/p>\n

Charles Shinima claimed the vacant WBO Africa welterweight title in his fight against Mohammed Muta of Tanzania.<\/p>\n

In the international junior lightweight title fight, Jeremiah Nakathila reigned supreme, beating Zimbabwe\u2019s Ndodana Ncube with a TKO in the second round.
