These are the equipment that we need for our operations. As you know, our ‘Boots on the Ground’ is still ongoing and there was a need for us to have operational equipment,’’ he said.

“This donation is very important to us, we appreciate the Walvis Bay Corridor Group and the RFA who gave us three rechargeable torches, 11 reflector jackets, 10 traffic cones for road demarcations, four camping chairs, gazebos, two folding tables and that is what we need for our mini roadblocks, stop and search roadblocks and we also received four folding camping chairs,” he noted.

Kanyetu indicated that the assistance came at the right time, as they (police) are currently having operations on the ground. “We are delighted that our work will be easy, I should now urge other stakeholders and the business community to also come on board, imagine all of us are concerned about crime because its an enemy to all of us and when we join hands and give each other a helping hand, it makes fighting crime easy,” he encouraged. The acting regional commander stated that if other stakeholders, the business community and the community come on board and assist the police in their quest to prevent crime that will be appreciated.

“To the Walvis Bay Corridor Group and the RFA with my regional management of Kavango East, we thank you very much as you assisted us with the most needed equipment for our operations, you have made our work very easy,’’ he said.

“We urge you to continue as such, we regard you at this moment as our very potential partner in the prevention of crime not only in Kavango East but in the entire country, teamwork will help us much,’’ he stressed.
