Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE efundja waters that crossed the Namibia-Angola border this morning are progressing rapidly southwards, having already reached the Engela village, about ten kilometres inland.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis water is flowing at an unprecedented speed,\u201d said Joel Nghiloloka the headman of the border village, Okahauyulu.<\/p>\n

Curious villagers flocked to the oshanas to marvel at this natural phenomenon.<\/p>\n

There was drama, however, when a zebra snake was spotted in the water. It was promptly attacked and killed by young men using sticks and stones. But moments later, another \u201cblack snake\u201d was seen in the water. However, it quickly disappeared under the fast flowing water.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is the thing that we warn people to beware of. There are snakes in the efundja waters, not only fish. People must be very, very careful,\u201d said Nghiloloka.<\/p>\n

Efundja has already rendered several two-track roads impassable.<\/p>\n

Police officers have been evacuated from some of their border outposts west of Oshikango fearing that they would be cut off and rendered unreachable.<\/p>\n
