Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>EFUNDJA is a March\/April phenomenon, the reason why, in Oshiwambo, March is known as \u201cTaula\u201d, the month of inundations.<\/p>\n

Informante\u0301 caught up with Liina Sheehama, an elderly resident of the Onghala village in the Ohangwena Region, while she looked at the flood waters with amused curiosity.<\/p>\n

She noted that the flood water was too much too early in the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cEfundja in January? That is something new,\u201d she said, adding that the flood waters from neighbouring Angola do reach the area every now and then, but never so early in the year.<\/p>\n

She also pointed out that such a huge mass of water was last seen almost two decades ago.<\/p>\n

She moved closer to the delegation of the Engela constituency councilor that visited the Onghala Combined School on Sunday, but she did come within speaking distance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are they planning to do to help our school going kids? How will the children reach here [the school] safely?\u201d she inquired when a journalist approached her.<\/p>\n
