{"id":37799,"date":"2023-01-21T16:54:18","date_gmt":"2023-01-21T16:54:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/namibia\/all-news\/big-interest-in-volleyball-for-all"},"modified":"2023-01-21T16:54:18","modified_gmt":"2023-01-21T16:54:18","slug":"big-interest-in-volleyball-for-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/namibia\/all-news\/big-interest-in-volleyball-for-all","title":{"rendered":"Big interest in Volleyball For All"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>SPOTS for the popular Windhoek Draught DTS Volleyball for All are running out fast, said organisers during the launch of the event on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The social sport event returns to its customary wholesome format after two years of circumventing the Covid pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>However, time and space are of the essence for those who wish to be part of the fun on 4 February at the Deutscher Turn und Sportverein (DTS).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe unfortunately had to skip the 2021 event due to Covid, and the 2022 event was on a much smaller scale,\u201d said Julia Gideon, the chairperson of DTS Indoor Volleyball.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut now we&#8217;re back to our usual huge event, and this year we can even take 250 teams as we have an additional [beach volleyball] court. So, if you want to enter, please hurry up. We don&#8217;t have that many spots left.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Teams can enter the mixed six-a-side category, which requires that there are two women on court at all times. Each team is allowed two registered volleyball players only.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s big fun. It&#8217;s a social event. It&#8217;s not about winning or professionals,\u201d Gideon said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do, of course, have first, second and third prizes. But, we also have a lot of prizes for fun categories like the best dressed, funniest name, sportiest team and best organised team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Entries close on Wednesday, 25 January.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMake sure you get your entries in. You don&#8217;t want to miss this.
