Africa-Press<\/a> – Namibia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>ANOTHER suspect in the fatal armed robbery incident that occurred Tuesday at the Onandjaba settlement in the Omusati Region, was apprehended yesterday morning. The police tracked him since Tuesday and finally caught up with him at the Omangaranga village near Oshikuku.<\/p>\n

Outgoing police spokesperson in Omusati, Inspector Lineekela Shikongo, said that the suspect used a variety of tactics to evade capture, and was still fleeing the police trackers when he ran into the next group of police officers.<\/p>\n

He is joining the other two suspects who were immediately arrested after the incident in which a security guard was fatally shot. The robbery occurred at a Pep Store, but the target was the Falcon Security services personnel collecting money from the business.<\/p>\n

The robbers timed their crime to coincide with the transfer of the money from the store to the vehicle parked outside. According to the police, the robbers shot and killed a Falcon employee before they jumped in the car and used it as getaway vehicle.<\/p>\n

Two of the suspects were apprehended moments later as they hid in a homestead in the Okando village. It is alleged that they threatened the homestead dwellers and warned them to not report their presence to anyone.<\/p>\n

However, the information leaked and they were arrested. The vehicle and the stolen money were recovered, however, it is not yet clear how much money was stolen and how much was recovered.<\/p>\n

The presence of another getaway car and a fourth suspect are mentioned, but Inspector Shikongo said the police preferred to not divulge too much information at this stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cRevealing too much information at this stage might jeopardize the ongoing search and the investigation,\u201d he said. The suspects will appear in the Outapi Magistrate\u2019s court as soon as they are charged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
