Africa-Press<\/a> – Namibia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>After failing on two attempts, Otjiwarongo-based outfit Mighty Gunners will be hoping to come out tops in tomorrow\u2019s MTC NFA Cup final encounter against Civics at the Vineta Stadium in Swakopmund.<\/p>\n

The match is expected to start at 16h00. Gunners have lost in the final of the same competition against African Stars in 2013 and then Young African in 2017.<\/p>\n

Speaking to this publication yesterday, Gerhardt Hengari, who is the coach of Mighty Gunners, said this is a match they need to win in order to redeem themselves from the two previous disappointments.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis time around, we are just going into the match with the mindset to win the cup, and make history for our town as well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs much as our opponents need it, I believe we need this more; we want to be the first team from Otjiwarongo to win the NFA Cup.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked about their overall readiness, the coach said the players are well prepared; they are physically and mentally ready for the big final, and in good spirit.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Civics head coach Jeremy Zimmer told New Era Sport yesterday his charges are equally prepared for the big encounter, and they have eyes on the big prize.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can tell you right now it won\u2019t be an easy one against a team like Gunners, but we are equally prepared and ready for whatever is in our way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are obviously eyeing the big prize which is the cup and that has been our core goal from the beginning, that\u2019s what we will stick to in the final tomorrow,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The match will be preceded by the third-place play-off between Blue Waters, who lost to Civics in the semi-final, and Young African, who were defeated by Gunners. The winner walks away with N$500 000 and runners-up N$250 000. Third and fourth place receive N$150 000 and N$100 000 respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
