Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Two City of Windhoek employees were airlifted to South Africa on Monday after they were electrocuted while working on electricity infrastructure at Otjomuise.<\/p>\n

City of Windhoek spokesperson Harold Akwenye confirmed this on Wednesday, saying that one of the employees had been airlifted to Johannesburg and the other to Cape Town.<\/p>\n

He said an explosion occurred on a different apparatus than the one the two were working on.<\/p>\n

Two electricity department employees sustained burn injuries in the incident, he said.<\/p>\n

Akwenye said the cause of the incident could not be confirmed at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are busy with an investigation that will determine the cause of the explosion and an informed decision will be made to make sure such an incident won’t happen again. A detailed report will be communicated,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
