Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE Oshakati Town Council has budgeted N$40 million during the current financial year for servicing Oshakati north known as \u201cEhenye\u201d.<\/p>\n

Town Chief Executive Officer Timoteus Namwandi said the funds are put aside to service 283 erven with roads, water, sewer systems and electricity before the end of the financial period.<\/p>\n

Thus far, Namwandi said council has managed to complete the servicing of sewer, water and electricity services.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoads and stormwater infrastructure have been completed 80% and is expected to fully completed by March,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Namwandi indicated that during the current financial year, an amount of about N$9.5 million was put aside for the construction of the town\u2019s fire station.<\/p>\n

He noted that the project is 80% completed and is also expected to be completed by March.<\/p>\n

Namwandi explained that Council has also completed the re-gravelling of roads in Evululuko, Oshakati West and other area in town to provide easy access to informal settlement and rehabilitation of existing roads at cost of over N$1.8 million.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the construction of 500m3 and 250m3 elevated water reservoir at Ompumbu location with the aim of providing bulk water supply to area\u2019s extension one and two was successfully completed at a tune of over N$7.8 million.<\/p>\n
