Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>DEFENDING champions Tura Magic got off to a great start with an 8-1 victory against Rightway Football Club when the FNB Women’s Super League kicked off on Saturday.<\/p>\n

There were also impressive wins for V Power Angels and Beauties FC, as well as the up-and-coming Girls & Goals, who beat powerhouses Khomas Nampol 1-0.<\/p>\n

Tura Magic, who fielded several national players in their squad and won the last Women’s Super League in 2019, picked up where they left off as they attacked from the start.<\/p>\n

Memory Ngonda opened their account after six minutes and further goals by Lovisa Mulunga, Thomalina Adams and Ivonne Kooper put them 4-0 ahead after only 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

Rightway FC managed to keep them at bay till halftime, but further gaols by Ngonda and Mulunga, as well as Emma Naris and Anna Shikusho gave Tura Magic an emphatic victory.<\/p>\n

There was also a strong start for Beauties FC who beat Okahandja FC 7-2, after leading 3-1 at halftime.<\/p>\n

Fiola Vliete, who previously played for V Power Angels, was Beauties’ star player, scoring four goals, while Meagan Schuster added two and Nicole Philander one.<\/p>\n

V Power Angels didn’t seem to miss Vliete much as they also got off to a commanding 6-0 victory against Nust.<\/p>\n

Anna Ida Somses scored two of their goals, while one of their goal scorers included the 13-year-old striker Nancy Leban.<\/p>\n

The young Girls & Goals side posted an impressive victory after beating powerhouses Khomas Nampol 1-0 at the Unam Stadium.<\/p>\n

Shanice Daries scored the only goal of the match after eight minutes, but there were more chances on either side, while Khomas Nampol nearly equalised when a high ball seemed to have crossed the line, but the referee ruled that Girls & Goals keeper Lydia Eixas had managed to keep it out.<\/p>\n

For Girls & Goals there were good performances by Beverly Uueziua, Selma Enkali and Julia Rutjindo, while Twelikondjela Amukoto and Iina Katuta shone for Khomas Nampol.<\/p>\n

At the Oshakati Stadium, Ongwediva Queens started their campaign with a 2-0 victory against Ramblers, with Albertina Fillipus and Hilma Kanyama scoring their goals, while in Swakopmund, Arrows Ladies beat Namib Daughters 3-2.<\/p>\n
