Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>PRESIDENT Hage Geingob has conveyed his condolences to the family, and friends of divine priest Absai Uetuesapi Mungendje, who died on Thursday.<\/p>\n

He was 99.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Sunday, Geingob said:<\/p>\n

“The passing of Absai Uetuesapi Mungendje is a major loss to the Ovaherero community and the Namibian nation. Mungendje was entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the sacred shrine at the chief Hosea Kutako homestead in Toasis, Aminuis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Geingob said they met on several occasions, including two weeks ago when he went to inspect progress on the Hosea Kutako Memorial Museum and Shrine at Toasis where they exchanged pleasantries, and thanked the Government for the construction of the Chief Hosea Kutako Memorial Museum and Shrine.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring this difficult time of bereavement, I join the family and the entire community in mourning the passing of an elder who devoted his life to the preservation of the Ovaherero culture and traditions.<\/p>\n

I extend condolences to the children, the bereaved family, and the entire Namibian nation,\u201d said he said.<\/p>\n
