Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Mibagu is an exciting new Namibian-owned website where people can come together, network and share wisdom. Founded by Roseline Kinda, Mibagu has recently gone live after being tested for several months with a small group of people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe website was created to bring Namibian entrepreneurs together to share ideas on the business opportunities available within the country, and how they can start these businesses with minimal to no funding in order to build legacy businesses,\u201d Kinda told Youth Corner.<\/p>\n

She said there are many people within the country who have great business ideas, and this platform can be used to mentor and guide new entrepreneurs, as well as look for investors or to announce new services or products.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this platform, we hope to inspire and awaken the dormant entrepreneur within each Namibian family.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pivotal topics of the website are entrepreneurship, pre-colonial African history, ideas on off-grid living, African spirituality, the safety of children and the protection of nature.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese topics might not seem mutually exclusive but all play a fundamental role in the building of a strong prosperous nation.\u201d The platform hopes to also promote farming and vocational skills as a means to serve the communities and make them attractive to the youth.<\/p>\n

Kinda noted that research has shown the mainstream social media platforms create a \u201cshallowing effect\u201d within people, where people feel pressured to share the best highlights of their life and physical image in order to obtain validation from others.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has resulted in self-esteem issues within the youth, and the aim of this website is to counter this by steering the conversations and activities into a more realistic, yet productive direction to show the youth they are capable of achieving much more than a beautiful selfie.\u201d<\/p>\n

The website will be monitored to counter online abuse and remove content that is deemed harmful. This includes foul language, racism, tribalism, obscene imagery, spam and misleading content.<\/p>\n

The mobile app for the website will be released in March 2022. This app will be compatible with iOS and Android devices. The membership to the website is free, and the app will be free to download.<\/p>\n
