Therefore, there is a need for the recipients to ensure that they give their best effort, remain focused and enjoy campus life, while holding the name of Oruua high up,” he said, during the bursary handover event held at Katutura’s UN plaza.

In this regard, a group of young people from Oruua decided to provide scholarships for qualifying students from that village.

The scholarship comes in the form of registration fees paid for the selected students, which range from N$2 000 to N$3 000 per student.

The recipients are Tuzuvirua Toromba (19), who is pursuing a degree in mathematics and engineering at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), Jandjee Hukura (19), who is studying a health and wellness course at the International University of Management (IUM), Vezemba Ndorokaze (27) who is doing a pharmacist assistant diploma at IUM and Hivirikee Karongee (19), who studies climate change and adaptation, also at IUM.

Meanwhile, former journalist-turned-lawyer and communications expert, Yarukeekuro Ndorokaze urged other villages across Namibia to emulate Oruua’s example by meeting the government halfway, in the quest for a better Namibia.

Ndorokaze is also from Oruua and one of the contributors to the fund.

For More News And Analysis About Namibia Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Namibia.
