Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>African Stars, the log leaders of the Debmarine Premiership, continued their impressive winning streak on Saturday.<\/p>\n

At Mariental Stadium, the Katutura giants hosted Life Fighters, securing a 3-0 victory with goals from Willy Stephanus, Edmar Kamatuka and Uetuuru Kambato. The win extended Stars\u2019 lead at the top of the summit, much to the delight of coach Mervin Mbakera, who attributed the victory to the team\u2019s fighting spirit.<\/p>\n

After the match, Mbakera praised the boys for their maximum points haul. \u201cIt\u2019s kudos to the boys. Another objective was reached, which is to claim maximum points – our main aim for this match. The boys did the job, and I think it\u2019s on to the next one,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Stephanus, who scored the opening goal, credited the team\u2019s recent Afcon qualifiers players for giving them a boost against their rivals. \u201cI think the national team players who returned from duty gave the team a boost, which saw us easily bag three points today. The rivals were also good, which gave us the drive to push more for this match,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Stephanus expressed confidence in the team\u2019s ability to maintain their high level of performance as they continue their quest to win the Premiership.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Dolam outfit Orlando Pirates collected maximum points with a 2-0 win over Eleven Arrows. Speaking about the result, Woody Jacobs expressed his satisfaction and revealed that the team had an effective plan to win the game from the outset.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a challenging encounter, as the other team gave us a run for our money. But we managed to collect maximum points on the road, which is what we wanted. We would like to maintain the same momentum and play the same style of football going forward. Overall, I am pleased with the boys\u2019 performance today,\u201d Jacobs added.<\/p>\n

In other matches on Saturday, Windhoek-based outfit Tigers played to a 1-all draw against Blue Waters, while Young Brazilian drew 1-all against Rundu-based outfit Julinho Sporting. Okahandja United beat Citizen 2-0. Otjiwarongo-based Mighty Gunners thrashed Civics 4-2, while Black Africa lost 1-0 to Unam.<\/p>\n
