Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Otjiwarongo-based outfit Life Fighters gaffer Agnus Elemu is strongly convinced that this weekend\u2019s round of matches will mark a crucial turning point in their Debmarine Premiership campaign, as they prepare to face a tough and equally-determined Orlando Pirates.<\/p>\n

Fighters will square off against Pirates at the SKW stadium on Saturday in the capital, before turning their attention to Tigers on Sunday at the same venue.<\/p>\n

Despite the back-to-back fixtures against two tough opponents, Elemu remains unwavering in their potential to pull off surprises against the two sides, saying they have mentally and physically prepared well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are determined to collect as many points as possible in our remaining games, and we want to make a strong statement this weekend. Although our performance hasn\u2019t been the best lately, our plan is to turn the tide around and start winning crucial matches again, and we want to start with this weekend\u2019s games,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that playing against a team like Pirates won\u2019t be easy, but I have every confidence that my players will rise to the occasion and secure maximum points on the road against a formidable opponent. It will be very important for us to collect those points away from home.\u201d<\/p>\n

As it stands, Fighters are currently placed 10th on the log table with 27 points from 19 matches, while Pirates are seventh with 30 points from 22 league matches so far.<\/p>\n

Elemu is clear on their intentions for climbing within the top five sides on the log and is cognisant of the importance of beating Tigers on Sunday and how those points will go a long way in solidifying their campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cSunday\u2019s match is equally important, as we also need those points. We have a few issues with a few of our players who are battling some minor injuries, but we have been monitoring their progress and some could be available for those games. We are hopeful they will be fit in time for Saturday\u2019s match against Pirates, as their absence would leave a significant void in the team,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Also in action this Saturday will be Mighty Gunners, who will lock horns against Young African at the Liverpool stadium in Okahandja.<\/p>\n
