Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Ro\u0308ssing Uranium yesterday announced a sponsorship of over N$100 000 toward the Erongo region\u2019s football and netball teams\u2019 participation in the upcoming Newspaper Cup, slated for Otjiwarongo this Easter holidays.<\/p>\n

Ro\u0308ssing Uranium\u2019s employee relations manager Kondja Kaulinge handed over the sponsorship to Erongo governor Neville Andre during the team\u2019s send-off event in Swakopmund yesterday.<\/p>\n

He said Ro\u0308ssing Uranium is committed to making contributions to sports and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, an effort that is evident through the company\u2019s commitment to hosting the annual national marathon.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday is about the youth of our mighty Erongo region, who will be flying our flag high in Otjiwarongo at the annual Newspaper Cup. Team Erongo, as you embark on this journey to go and compete fearlessly, I am confident that the spirit of sportsmanship will lead the team in competing for the top prize and ultimately bringing the cups home,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kaulinge applauded the governor\u2019s office for promoting healthy living habits and community wellness.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased to contribute towards the development of youth in sport in our region.\u201d<\/p>\n

The donation caters to the team\u2019s football and netball kits, training kits, tracksuits and accommodation.<\/p>\n

Also speaking at the same occasion, Andre thanked Ro\u0308ssing Uranium for coming on board and being the team\u2019s main sponsorship.<\/p>\n
