Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>A FEW of Windhoek\u2019s roads will be affected by construction work that will last until June 2023, and road users are therefore advised to be cautious when using the affected roads.<\/p>\n

The City of Windhoek (CoW) revealed that the construction work will affect Independence Avenue, Hosea Kutako Drive, Martha Street, which is between the Visarend and Gladiola streets, and Goshawk Street, which is between Sam Nujoma Drive and David Hosea Meroro Road.<\/p>\n

CoW said that the construction process is for street resealing and preparatory work. CoW\u2019s Engineer of Materials and Systems, Francois Gouws, explained that the preparatory work is intended to fix parking and potholes on the roads. He added that contractors are working around the clock \u2013 including during weekends \u2013 to conclude the work and to allow for a rest period before commencing with the next phase.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoad users are advised to use caution when using roads under construction and to strictly abide by all traffic signs, speed limits and barricades around construction zones. While the essential work is being done, we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and we request your continued support and cooperation,\u201d CoW added.<\/p>\n
