Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism, with support from the German Government through KfW Development Bank, has inaugurated and handed over park infrastructure and equipment in the Dorob and Skeleton Coast National Parks of Namibia.<\/p>\n

Romeo Muyunda, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, explained that the infrastructure and equipment will assist in the management of the national parks and enhance biodiversity conservation.<\/p>\n

The infrastructure includes new park management stations constructed at Cape Cross, Ugabmund, Mo\u0308we Bay, and Springbokwasser. It comprises newly constructed park entrance gates, office buildings (tourist receptions), ablution facilities, information display services for visitors, new garages, service buildings, as well as staff accommodation (houses), among other things.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe infrastructure upgrade in the Dorob and Skeleton Coast National Park amounts to a total of N$132,411,730.26 and marks yet another milestone in the ongoing development cooperation between Germany and Namibia, particularly in the areas of biodiversity conservation and environmental management. It is our collective conviction that the infrastructure and equipment will go a long way towards serving and promoting not only conservation but also tourism development in the coastal areas of the country,\u201d Muyunda said.<\/p>\n
