Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>WHILE most places in the interior of the country are expected to be hot and dry on Wednesday, a few thundershowers are likely to occur in some central and south-eastern areas.<\/p>\n

This is according to the Namibia Meteorological Services, which predicted that many places in the interior of the country will likely see maximum temperatures of 32\u00b0C on Wednesday. However, the highest temperatures are expected in the Kunene Region, where Sesfontein and Khorixas will likely see minimum temperatures ranging between 18\u00b0C and 19\u00b0C and maximum temperatures ranging between 33\u00b0C and 34\u00b0C on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

In the Northeast, Zambezi Region\u2019s Katima Mulilo and Kavango East Region\u2019s Rundu can expect minimum temperatures ranging between 15\u00b0C and 18\u00b0C, and maximum temperatures ranging between 32\u00b0C and 33\u00b0C on Wednesday. Similar temperatures are expected in the south, where Mariental in the Hardap Region and Keetmanshoop in the \/\/Kharas Region will likely experience minimum temperatures ranging between 15\u00b0C and 17\u00b0C and maximum temperatures ranging between 30\u00b0C and 32\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, a few rain showers are expected in some central and south-eastern areas on Wednesday. A few places in the aforementioned areas have already received light to moderate rainfall last week, which for some places, continued into this week as well.<\/p>\n

This includes Windhoek, which recorded 5.5 millimetres (mm) of rain between Sunday and Monday morning, followed by another 11.5mm of rain between Monday and Tuesday morning. Windhoek also received light rainfall last week, with some parts of the capital city recording 13.5mm of rain between Monday and Tuesday, and another 9.4mm of rain between Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n

Okahua, another central area located in the Khomas Region, also received light rainfall during the past long weekend, recording about 2mm of rain between Sunday and Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Rainfall has been less frequent in the southeastern parts of the country. However, the area was not completely exempt from last week\u2019s rainfall. In fact, according to Namibia Meteorological Services, \/\/Kharas Region\u2019s Koe\u0308s and Aroab received light rainfall last week Monday, recording 3.2mm and 0.3mm of rain respectively.<\/p>\n
