Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Mines and energy ministry\u2019s spokesperson Andreas Simon said the ministry remains fully aware of the negative impact that high fuel prices inflict on motorists; hence, the public is advised to use scarce resources more prudently during these tough economic times.<\/p>\n

Already struggling with massive increases in food prices and expensive bank loans, consumers are given a bit of relief following the announcement last week by the mines and energy ministry that the price of petrol will remain unchanged, while diesel prices will decrease.<\/p>\n

Come Wednesday, diesel consumers will see a decrease in the price by 80 cents per litre.<\/p>\n

These developments will bring the Walvis Bay petrol prices to N$19.78 per litre, while diesel prices decrease to N$19.85 per<\/p>\n

\u201cThe exchange rate figures for the period of 1 to 25 April 2023 indicate that the Namibia Dollar has slightly appreciated against the US Dollar at N$18.1372 per US$, compared to N$18.2573 per US$ at the end of March 2023,\u201d said Simon in a statement.<\/p>\n

The ministry has, therefore, recorded a combination of over and under-recoveries on petrol and both diesel products, namely an under-recovery of 95 cents per litre on petrol and over recoveries of 111 and 101 cents per litre of diesel 50 ppm and 10 ppm, respectively.<\/p>\n
