Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The African National Congress (ANC), the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) were the first parties to win ward seats in South Africa\u2019s local government elections.<\/p>\n

The results started trickling in on Monday night at the Results Operation Center in Pretoria. By early Tuesday, the ANC had 152 seats, the DA 71 and FF Plus 5.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, South Africans continue to question the low voter turnout. Despite 26.2 million registered voters, the IEC on Monday highlighted that the voter turnout was at 8 million by 5pm while giving an update.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s believed this could be the lowest voter turnout. The ANC so far has 44.67% support, followed by the DA (27.68%) and EFF (7.8%). Earlier, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) said it was still measuring the voter turnout figures following the 2021 local government elections.<\/p>\n

Moreover, by early morning there was some indication from experts of the FFPlus gaining some ground in Midvaal, Gauteng. The DA was steadily showing some inroad in the Western Cape, particularly in the Bonteheuwel area with the EFF also surprisingly showing slight growth in some areas in the Western Cape.<\/p>\n

New kid on the block ActionSA reportedly won its first voting district in KwaDukuza\u2019s Ward 15 in Stanger, KZN and also reportedly in the Johannesburg inner city.<\/p>\n
