Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>FOUNDING President Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma officially inaugurated the Onjombo Lodge in the Uukolonkadhi area.<\/p>\n

This is the second lodge in the Uukolonkadhi area, following the Eha Lodge, and it was constructed at a cost of approximately N$20 million.<\/p>\n

The Onjombo Lodge was built on a piece of land donated by the Uukolonkadhi Traditional Authority.<\/p>\n

It is located in a unique area with a natural spring that has been there for centuries. The area is fenced off to ensure the safety of visitors as the hole is approximately 20 feet deep.<\/p>\n

The beautiful surrounding scenery offers a perfect chance to commune with nature and enjoy the refreshing outdoors and breathtaking natural beauty.<\/p>\n

Founding President Nujoma initially fenced off the area and introduced a few springboks.<\/p>\n

Nujoma entrusted the project to the Swapo Party Women\u2019s Council, which was named the Centre for Resource and Transformation (CERET). The aim was to assist the women in the Omudhuwa Hauwanga area and the region as a whole.<\/p>\n

According to Nujoma, the non-profit organization CERET came up with the innovative idea of a fully developed lodge.<\/p>\n

The lodge consists of 16 twin beds, three two-bedroom houses for management staff, two conference rooms, a modern restaurant and kitchen, cooling and ablution facilities, laundry, storerooms, communication facilities including wireless networking technology for high-speed internet access, and a restroom for workers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe development is situated on prime land overlooking a placid and scenic forest, set in a pristine natural environment that offers privacy and the finest luxuries and amenities within a commutable distance from surrounding towns,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that the location would prove to be tranquil for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat away from the traffic jams and rush hours of a town filled with concrete jungles.<\/p>\n

Nujoma expressed his hope that other broad-based economic empowerment and entrepreneurial firms and associations would follow this fine example to strengthen their economy.<\/p>\n

He also hoped that people in the Omusati Region and beyond would take advantage of these affordable facilities for their recreation and relaxation.<\/p>\n

He urged the lodge owners to aggressively market their services through various channels to encourage local tourism and not consider it exclusively for foreign tourists.<\/p>\n

Nujoma emphasized the importance of people appreciating the natural beauty of their country.<\/p>\n

He further encouraged the project beneficiaries to take care of their projects, assets, and resources, and to take ownership and guard them with utmost care for long-lasting projects.<\/p>\n

The community has been urged to protect the facilities and avoid any vandalism.<\/p>\n

Rakel Shoopala, the Swapo Women\u2019s Council Regional Coordinator, stated that the SWPC leadership is highly anticipating the benefits from this lodge. The aim is to improve the living standards of the people in the Omusati Region.<\/p>\n

Shoopala mentioned that in 2008, the Founding President donated the land to SWPC in Omusati with the goal of developing it to generate income and serve the women while contributing to national economic development.<\/p>\n\r\n
