Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Financial services Group, Standard Bank Namibia Holdings has appointed head of corporate and investment banking Nelson Lucas as the acting chief executive for six months, effective Wednesday.<\/p>\n

This was announced by Standard Bank on the Namibian Stock Exchange news platform on Thursday and follows the resignation of former chief executive Mercia Geises.<\/p>\n

According to the announcement, the board of directors will commence the process of appointing a substantive chief executive while Lucas is at the helm.<\/p>\n

Lucas, a chartered accountant, joined Standard Bank Namibia in 2020 after 13 years at PwC Namibia.<\/p>\n

According to the board, Lucas has extensive expertise in auditing of financial institutions, consulting in business advisory, VAT and transfer pricing.<\/p>\n

Geises\u2019 resignation was reported to be effective as of 1 August, and it is not clear how the acting appointment will work.<\/p>\n
