Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>With one game left in the 2022\/23 Women\u2019s Football League season for most teams, the head coach of the Galz & Goalz team<\/p>\n

Ronnie Noebeb has expressed his desire to secure a top-three finish.<\/p>\n

He said this after their impressive 2-1 victory over Arrows Ladies on Saturday at the Namibia Football Association (NFA) technical centre.<\/p>\n

Beyonce\u0301 Cloete and Veronica van Wyk scored the two goals to secure victory for the Galz & Goalz team while Jekohasana Kamatjipose netted the consolation goal for Arrows Ladies.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Galz &Goalz won their match by a 2-1 scoreline against Namib Daughters.<\/p>\n

The two victories move the Galz & Goalz team to second place on the log standings with 57 points, eight points behind runaway leaders Tura Magic Ladies.<\/p>\n

In a post-match interview, Noebeb expressed his satisfaction with the victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an intensely challenging match, our opponents gave us a run for our money. Overall, it was a commendable performance. We were able to secure maximum points, and that is what truly matters as we shift our focus to the upcoming game,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Despite acknowledging the impossibility of the title, Noebeb emphasised the team\u2019s ambition to secure a top-three finish in the standings. \u201cWe aspire to finish the league on a high note by claiming the second position. Initially, we had set our sights on winning the league at the start of the season, but that dream is now out of reach. Tura Magic Ladies have widened their lead with a significant number of points, making it impossible for us to catch up, even if we were to win all of our remaining matches,\u201d he conceded.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Salmon Nakale, the head coach of Arrows Ladies, expressed his dissatisfaction with the referee\u2019s decisions, claiming that his side was unjustly denied victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe everyone witnessed the referee\u2019s actions; he handed the game to our opponents. We should have emerged victorious, but today he cost us crucial points. For now, I have little to say except that we need to regroup and focus on our next match, which takes place tomorrow (Sunday),\u201d Nakale remarked.<\/p>\n

In other match results from Saturday, Beauties secured a 6-0 victory over NUST Babes, while Okahandja played to a goalless draw against V-Power. Additionally, Namib Daughters claimed maximum points after defeating Khomas Nampol 2-0.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Beauties defeated V-Power Angels by a 6-1 scoreline while Arrow Ladies beat Khomas Nampol 3-2.<\/p>\n

Okahandja collected maximum points by beating NUST 3-2 meanwhile Ongwediva Queens fell short to Unam Bokkies by 3-1.<\/p>\n
