Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>CLOSE to N$400,000 was pledged at a dinner hosted to raise funds for this year\u2019s Eenhana Exposition.<\/p>\n

First National Bank (FNB) remains the main sponsor of the expo and pledged N$50,000.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is set for July 13th to August 5th, 2023, at the Eenhana Convention Centre, and will be held under the theme \u201cReviving the Local Economy through Business Resilience, Innovation & Diversification.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking during the fundraising event, Deputy Minister and Minister of International Relations Cooperation Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said towns and regions are the building blocks of the country.<\/p>\n

Nandi-Ndaitwah said that events like these provide active members of society with a unique opportunity to join hands and contribute to a good cause in order to improve the socio-economic development of the town and the country at large.<\/p>\n

According to Nandi-Ndaitwah, what happens in one part of the country will have an impact on the whole country. Therefore, a prosperous Eenhana will contribute to a prosperous Namibia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Eenhana Expo theme reminds us to be vigilant and always be prepared for the challenges as we operate our businesses in this unpredictable world of political and economic climate,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She added that this situation is further exhibited by climate change and other phenomena such as health pandemics.<\/p>\n

According to Nandi-Ndaitwah, the global hard reality of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy is still evident and may continue for some time unless a workable formula for recovery is found.<\/p>\n

Nandi-Ndaitwah added that most businesses lost revenue, and many employees were laid off, disrupting both production and supply chains.<\/p>\n

Therefore, Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasized that this theme is a call for Namibia, and particularly Eenhana, to start reviving the economy through business resilience, innovation, and product diversification.<\/p>\n

In the world of technology, people are talking about skills and re-skilling, enabling individuals to perform in different disciplines of the economy. The same logic should apply to business.<\/p>\n

Amid economic instability, Nandi-Ndaitwah indicated that businesspersons and entrepreneurs cannot focus solely on one activity because if it suffers, it will be difficult to stay afloat.<\/p>\n\r\n
