Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>President Hage Geingob is set to host the Prime Ministers of Denmark and the Netherlands on Monday in a historic turn of events.<\/p>\n

The two Prime Ministers visiting are Mark Rutte of the Netherlands and Mette Frederiksen of Denmark. They will be in the country for a combined business visit.<\/p>\n

This visit aims to enhance bilateral relations through sectoral cooperation.<\/p>\n

The visit to Namibia is intended to foster strong working relationships between Namibia and the two other nations for the mutual benefit of all three countries, as stated in a press release issued by the presidency on Saturday.<\/p>\n

This joint working visit by the Prime Ministers of Denmark and the Netherlands presents a fantastic opportunity for the three nations to expand and deepen coordinated and sincere partnerships between their countries and people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe visit will be beneficial for all countries, as the Netherlands and Denmark share common visions and aspirations with Namibia when it comes to international cooperation, economic development, and the green transition,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, Namibia\u2019s recent discovery of oil and its efforts to promote green hydrogen as part of the energy transition have attracted global attention. Namibia is looking forward to working with Denmark, whose strategy focuses on the production and use of green hydrogen in sectors such as shipping, aviation, heavy transport, and industry.<\/p>\n

Therefore, this occasion provides an opportune moment for Namibia to engage in a constructive dialogue on energy.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Namibia and the Netherlands are continuously strengthening their bilateral relations through cooperation in various sectors, including tourism, trade, energy, and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The Netherlands has initiated projects to support Namibia\u2019s green economy, as well as science, technology, innovation, and education projects.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the statement highlights that President Geingob, who has had several exchanges with the Right Honourable Prime Minister of the Netherlands, including on the margins of COP 27 in 2023, looks forward to consolidating joint efforts and coordination in delivering a just energy transition.<\/p>\n
