Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>OSHIKOTO Governor Penda Ya Ndakolo announced that the Ministry of Health and Social Services is undertaking the construction and renovation of the deteriorating health infrastructure in the region.<\/p>\n

Ya Ndakolo said that this initiative aims to provide access to quality healthcare for all Namibians, as enshrined in the Constitution. He made these remarks during his State of the Region Address (SORA) on Wednesday, highlighting that a total budget of N$1.8 million has been allocated for various projects in the financial year 2022\/23.<\/p>\n

According to Ya Ndakolo, the Ministry is currently engaged in several projects, including upgrading the Dental Clinic at Tsumeb Hospital, constructing the Pediatric Ward at Onandjokwe Intermediate Hospital, revamping electrical installations and light bulbs at Omuthiya Hospital and all clinics in the region, installing a water tank at Onyuulaye Clinic, repairing the mortuary at Omuthiya Hospital, and renovating the Onyaanya Health Centre, Amilema Clinic, Onanke Clinic, as well as replacing the Okankolo Sewer Pumps at Cold Storage.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Ya Ndakolo mentioned that the Evaristus Shikongo Correctional Facility has invested approximately N$17 million in the construction of an Offenders\u2019 Clinic, which is 99% complete, a security fence that is 100% complete, and Minimum Security units and an Administration block that are also 100% complete.<\/p>\n
