Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>MORE than 450 exhibitors from diverse sectors of the economy, including corporates, the private sector, ESMEs, and even informal trading, are expected to participate in the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair this year.<\/p>\n The 22nd edition of the OATF, which is being held under the theme \u201cEmbracing a Sustainable Economy Linking Smart Markets,\u201d is scheduled to take place from August 25th to September 2nd, 2023.<\/p>\n Rebekka Hidulika, Chairperson of the Ongwediva Trade Fair Society, said that 98% of Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries, including Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, and Uganda, have confirmed their participation.<\/p>\n Hidulika mentioned that last year\u2019s OATF attracted over 400 local and international exhibitors, representing various active economic sectors in the country, including the informal sector, which significantly contributes to the GDP.<\/p>\n \u201cIn addition to raising awareness about the benefits of intra-African trade, the Symposium will serve as a forum to connect participants interested in exploring trading opportunities within the African continent,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n She added that these interactions can facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and partnerships.<\/p>\n Hidulika noted that the Symposium will also educate participants about the specifics of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), including its policies, regulations, and potential benefits for businesses across Africa.<\/p>\n This will help dispel any misconceptions and encourage active participation.<\/p>\n The decision for the Ongwediva Trade Fair Society, as a catalyst for trade linkages through exhibitions, to partner with the Namibia Trade Forum and MIT in accelerating trade developmental agendas is driven by the ever-changing economic factors in reaching a wider market and is thus commendable.<\/p>\n Hidulika emphasized that this step underscores the importance of economic transformation, thinking beyond conventional approaches, and assessing how combined joint efforts, along with innovation and talent competitiveness, can enhance Namibia\u2019s competitiveness in the global economy.<\/p>\n For More News And Analysis About Namibia<\/a> Follow Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Maria David Africa-Press – Namibia.
