Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The University of Namibia on Tuesday kicked off with its three-day career and employment expo at its Hifikepunye Pohamba campus in Ongwediva. The expo, which has attracted various institutions, aims to guide learners to<\/p>\n make informed career choices. HP campus director Jacob Sheehama said the ongoing expo will enlighten the minds of the participating learners and students to make a concrete decision that would build and shield a better future for them.<\/p>\n \u201cWith the help of our able exhibiting industries, institutions and speakers, as long as you listen carefully, dear learners and students, then you will for sure be guided with the right course and attitude to increase your employment opportunities,\u201d said Sheehama.<\/p>\n Also speaking at the opening of the career expo, governor of Oshana region Elia Irimari said he is optimistic that career guidance expos will unlock the diverse industrial opportunities in the country.<\/p>\n \u201cIt remains for us to join forces to unlock these opportunities, leading to the employment creation and socio-economic upliftment of our communities,\u201d said Irimari.<\/p>\n The SRC vice president at the engineering campus in Ongwediva and for all the 12 campuses, Courage Changunda, moved a touching inspirational speech, encouraging the learners to prioritise their education and to be goal-driven.<\/p>\n \u201cYou have to prioritise the most important aspect of your life. As of now, your priority is your education \u2013 and nothing more. After prioritising your education, set goals with clarity and devise a reasonable and flexible plan,\u201d Changunda advised. Changunda also told the attendees that it is normal to feel overwhelmed; however, that should not deter them from succeeding.<\/p>\n \u201cBrothers and sisters, at some point you are going to feel overwhelmed and tired; it is normal, and we all have felt it at some point.
