Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The Nestor Sunshine Tobias Boxing and Fitness Academy says Charles Shinima and John John Ndjolonimus will be the main attractions at the \u201cTogether as One Part 10\u201d Boxing bonanza, scheduled for 01 September 2023, in Ongwediva.<\/p>\n

The event will take place at the Ongwediva Trade Fair.<\/p>\n

World Boxing Organisation Africa (WBO) Welterweight Champion Shinima will face Tanzanian Idd Pialari.<\/p>\n

Shinima has a record of 16 fights and 16 wins, while Pialari has a record of 40 fights with 31 wins, eight losses, and one draw, making it an exciting matchup to watch.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ndjolonimus, the WBO International Super Middleweight champion, has a<\/p>\n

record of16 fights and no loss, will fight with a yet to be named fighter after his initial opponent, Patrick Mukala, withdrew earlier this week.<\/p>\n

A new opponent will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Shinima expressed his excitement about returning to the ring and extending his remarkable record.<\/p>\n

He exuded confidence, saying he was well prepared for his title defence.<\/p>\n

Shinima expressed his gratitude to his fans, assuring them that he will put on an exceptional performance and is more than ready to defend his title.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a boxer, and that means I have to be ready at any moment to step into the ring and face an opponent. I am delighted to make my return to the ring and put on a spectacular show. My fans are well aware that I consistently deliver thrilling fights. I am more than prepared to defend my title,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Ndjolonimus echoed the same sentiment, despite feeling disappointed about his opponent\u2019s withdrawal.<\/p>\n

While acknowledging the tendency of some opponents to avoid facing him, Ndjolonimus believes in his promoters\u2019 ability to secure a suitable challenger.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am ready, but I feel disappointed that my opponent withdrew. I have become accustomed to the fact that some opponents tend to avoid facing me in the ring. Nevertheless, I trust my promoters to find a suitable replacement, and I am fully prepared to deliver an outstanding performance in Ongwediva. I urge the people to come and support us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Owner and promoter of the stable, Tobias, emphasised their commitment to taking boxing to the people, particularly in the northern region, where the majority of boxing fans reside.<\/p>\n

Tobias said taking boxing events outside of Windhoek is aligned with their mandate of reaching out to a wider audience.<\/p>\n

With the week of the trade fair drawing large crowds, the decision to host the bonanza in Ongwediva appears fitting and promising.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is high time that we take boxing beyond Windhoek once more; that\u2019s one of our mandates\u2014to take it directly to the people. The majority of our fans reside outside the city, making it only fitting to host the event there, particularly during the week of the trade fair, which attracts a massive crowd,\u201d he said. Tickets are pegged at N$200 for normal ones, while tables are at N$20 000.<\/p>\n
