Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Imperial Ruby from Okahandja Racing and Aminuis Racing\u2019s Lady Diamond won the main plates of the July Handicap at Okahatjipara Turf, Okondjatu, in the Otjozondjupa region on Saturday.<\/p>\n The race competition was organised by the Professor Supporters Club in collaboration with the First National Bank of Namibia to the tune of N$300 000.<\/p>\n Imperial Ruby scooped first place in the 2 200 metres (m), which was the main race for Thoroughbred horses, followed by La Luvia from Angermund Racing in second place, whereas Aminuis Racing\u2019s came third.<\/p>\n Lady Diamond defended the trophy it won last year after clinching the first position in the 2 000m, which was the main race for Namibian-born horses.<\/p>\n Second place was claimed by Ovitoto Racing\u2019s Freedom Fighter, who recently won the July Winter Cup in Okahandja, while third place was won by Boma of Harambee Racing.<\/p>\n Among other sprints, Otjinene Horse Racing\u2019s First Serve emerged victorious in the 1 000m of Nambred horses, followed by Bright Eye from Epukiro in second place, while Tallismanus\u2019 Life is Good claimed the third position.<\/p>\n The debutant horse, Flowing River from Angermund Racing, won the 1 000m of the Nambred horses, while Balabala Stables\u2019 Talk to Me claimed the second spot, and Filka from Mutjavikua Family settled for<\/p>\n third place.<\/p>\n In the 1 800m import D Division category, Earl of Cardigan from Otjinene Racing clinched victory, followed by Eamon Freygang\u2019s Unbroken Promises and Mr Aminuis from Harambee Racing in second and third places, respectively.<\/p>\n In the 1 800m of the D Division horses, Bright Eye scooped first place, followed by Life is Good in second place, and Silver Sun in third place.<\/p>\n Destiny from Khomas Turf claimed victory in the 1 000m of Nambred maiden horses, while Otjinene-based Call Me the Headline was crowned champion in the same distance of thoroughbred horses.<\/p>\n Professor Supporters Club\u2019s newly imported horse emerged victorious in the 1000m of the graduation category horses.<\/p>\n Okahandja Racing\u2019s spokesperson Otis Kotjipati said they put a lot of effort into their horses and are happy with the outcome.<\/p>\n \u201cWe did well. We expected good results as per our training methods.
