Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Young Stars netball club dominated proceedings in the MTC Netball Namibia Premier League (NNPL) derby matches over the weekend by winning all three of their matches that were held at Ogongo netball courts.<\/p>\nThe win saw them move to eighth position in the standings with 12 points, replacing coastal outfit Eleven Arrows, who were previously in that position with 10 points.<\/p>\n
Young Stars first played their game on Saturday against Rebels, which they won by 41-31, before going on to defeat Fatou by 47-32. On Sunday, Young Stars played against Northern Fly Ballers in a tie; they also prevailed by narrowly winning 47-45.<\/p>\n
Speaking to New Era Sport yesterday, James Andimba, the coach at the club, said it was their intention to collect maximum points heading into this weekend\u2019s fixture.<\/p>\n
Although he felt they still have a long way to go to completely move out of the danger zone, he is proud of the strides made so far.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe knew we were in a dangerous position, and we needed to capitalise on the weekend\u2019s fixtures to increase our chances of moving out of the danger zone. I told the players that it was an opportunity for us to collect maximum points because we didn\u2019t have a tough game or play a bigger team in the Premier League,\u201d said Andimba.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe league is approaching the end, and each and every team wants to collect points in every game they play, and that\u2019s the same with us, but we still have to keep the same energy in our next fixtures because we are not completely out of the danger zone. I hope we build on our great performance this weekend,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In other fixtures, on Saturday, Northern Fly Ballers defeated Fatou by 48-16, while on Sunday, Rebels defeated Fatou by 38-24.<\/p>\n
Khomas Netball League continues<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, action also continued this past weekend in the Khomas Netball League, with action from the Super 10, first division and second division.<\/p>\n
In the Super 10, Gomonate Fela defeated Khomas Nampol on Friday by 31-27, while on Saturday Khomas Nampol took their revenge as they win the tie by 28-30. Tigers played to a 28-all draw against Nust.<\/p>\n
In the first division, Unam Jaguars collected maximum points as they defeated Afrocat Lions by 35-24, while Wanderers fell short to Nust by 20-37.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in the second division, Afrocat Omaheke thrashed ministry of gender 15-0, while School of Medicine won their match 37-28 against Zebra Force.<\/p>\n
Tura Magic defeated Afrocat Lions 15-0, while United lost 8-30 to Khomas Nampol.<\/p>\n
United 1B lost 33-35 to Rehoboth.<\/p>\n
