Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>WITH the northern part of the country severely hit by drought, communal farmers are either forced to move their livestock to better grazing areas or buy bales to feed their animals.<\/p>\n

In an effort to meet the farmers halfway, the Headwoman of Ohailombo village in Uukwanambwa District of Ondonga Traditional Authority, Dr. Martha Namundjembo-Tilahun, on Thursday brought relief to farmers in her village and five surrounding villages by purchasing over 1,400 bales of graze.<\/p>\n

The bales of grass feed were distributed to farmers in Ohailombo, Ohaiyanda, Okandjeke, Uulumbilo, and other nearby villages.<\/p>\n

These bales were distributed to registered farmers.<\/p>\n

Executive director in the office of the Prime Minister I-Ben Nashandi said the effort of Namundjembo-Tilahun is laudable and comes at a time when the government announced the drought relief programme, inviting the private sector and individuals to support drought-affected farmers.<\/p>\n

Nashandi then hailed Namundjembo-Tilahun\u2019s efforts as noble, patriotic, and selfless as she gives hope to needy farmers during times of need.<\/p>\n

Namundjembo-Tilahun also treated all farmers to lunch at her Ohailombo traditional home.<\/p>\n
