Tanja Kahatjipara says she saw two men at Kuisebmond, appearing to be under the influence of drugs, and that the men said they were selling the child.”I didn’t take this lightly. I called my brother who is a police officer. The guys were high as hell, and when I said the police are on their way they changed their story, saying they were joking,\u201d said Kahatjipara.The Namibian understands that the mother of the toddler, who is believed to be employed at an old-age home at Walvis Bay, left the child for the day with a colleague living in Kuisebmond.The mother’s colleague allegedly left the child with other people who are known to be drug users. They were roaming the streets, allegedly trying to sell the child. Erongo police deputy commissioner Erastus Ikuyu said the police were informed that the child was safely returned to his mother, but are yet to establish that fact. \u201cThe colleague who took the child told our investigators that he returned the child to its mother.
