This marked a pivotal step in advancing their individual information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The delegation, led by four Members of Parliament from Botswana, was accompanied by their counterparts from Namibia, marking an essential cross-border exchange of knowledge and expertise. The primary objective of this visit is to conduct a benchmarking exercise focusing on Namibia\u2019s best practices in ICT policies, cybersecurity, and strategies aimed at transitioning their nations into knowledge-based economies.<\/p>\n<p>In a comprehensive exchange of ideas, the Communication Regulatory Authority of Namibia delivered a comprehensive overview of the ICT landscape in the country. This in-depth presentation allowed the visiting delegation to gain valuable insights into the development, regulation, and the current state of ICT in Namibia.<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Kamutuezu, the Acting Executive Director of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in Namibia, warmly welcomed the delegation. Kamutuezu emphasized the strong bilateral relationship between Namibia and Botswana, highlighting the importance of fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of ICT.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the engagement highlighted a commitment from both neighbouring countries to work closely on harmonizing their data roaming charges, a move that holds the potential to benefit not only their citizens but also to stimulate economic growth and regional cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>This benchmarking exercise marks an essential step toward strengthening the technological foundations in both Namibia and Botswana, allowing them to harness the full potential of ICT in building knowledge-based economies and ensuring robust cybersecurity measures.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange of knowledge
