Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Despite collecting maximum points over the weekend, Khomas Nampol head coach Fortune Morne Eichab says they will not be carried away with their recent results to set unrealistic expectations for themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t expect to collect six points over the weekend; we just went into the match knowing what we wanted to do, and that is exactly what we achieved, earning us the six points. The boys did well, and we will continue to do our level best,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The newly promoted side continued their great form this weekend, beating Unam 2-1 on Friday before thrashing Otjiwarongo-based outfit Life Fighters 4-0 at home. The win keeps them on top of the standings with 15 points from five matches played this season.<\/p>\n

When asked if they were eyeing the title after a convincing 4-0 win on Sunday, Eichab said, \u201cWe are not going to get carried away with the results. I can\u2019t dismiss the fact that we secured maximum points, which is a good feeling, but our focus remains the same: to avoid relegation this season and obtain 24 points in the first leg of the season,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

When asked how much pressure they have now that they are on top of the league and how they intend to maintain the same momentum, the coach said, \u201cFrom the first time we won our first game, we knew every team would be eyeing our scalp. It\u2019s now up to us to regroup and plan how to maintain the same energy. Our team consists of mostly new players, and we are still trying to find our groove together. By the time we get our combinations right, we will be in a good position to play the football we want,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in other results on Sunday, Northern-based and newly promoted Chula Chula played a 1-all draw against Tigers at a packed Independence Stadium in Oshakati, while Young Brazilian recorded their second win for the weekend as they beat UNAM 2-1.<\/p>\n

FC Ongos continued their formidable run as they recorded a 3-2 win against struggling Okakarara Young Warriors. The Otjiwarongo-based team Mighty Gunners shared the spoils with Civics, with the match ending 0-0, while Young African also recorded a 0-0 draw against Julinho Sporting in Gobabis. Okahandja United collected maximum points as they beat Dolam outfit Orlando Pirates 4-2. Coastal outfit Blue Waters also played to 0-0 draw against the defending champions, the African Stars.<\/p>\n
