Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Heeding the government\u2019s call for stakeholders and friends of education to support education, the R\u043e\u0308ssing Foundation continues to contribute to the scholarly advancement of the youth.<\/p>\n

Through their strategic plan for 2023 to 2027, the foundation on Wednesday delivered its support to the Bunya Combined School (BS) in the Kapako constituency of Kavango West region, where they donated 600 textbooks, two projectors and 40 lab coats all to the tune of N$400 000.<\/p>\n

Other items donated include 80 calculators, 110 math sets, 100 desks and chairs, and 96 sanitation chemicals.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wholeheartedly look forward to collaborating with the Directorate of Education, Arts and Culture, working towards the improvement of teaching and learning in schools within the Kavango West region. We understand there are more pressing needs of the Bunya Combined School. We will do our part to be your ambassadors in engaging other corporates to consider extending a hand of friendship to Bunya CS,\u2019\u2019 said the foundation\u2019s executive director, Uparura Kuvare.<\/p>\n

The foundation has also committed to support the completion of the classroom construction, which has been standing incomplete due to lack of funds, as well as support the school\u2019s garden project with gardening inputs.<\/p>\n

Bunya CS has 1 137 learners from pre-primary to grade 11, the school has a staff establishment of 43 teachers, four cleaners and two secretaries.<\/p>\n

Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo Secondary School<\/p>\n

The foundation also donated learning materials and textbooks worth N$350 000 to Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo Secondary School (SS) and Nangolo SS in Ondangwa.<\/p>\n

Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo SS received textbooks and learning materials worth N$200 000, while Nangolo SS received learning materials worth N$150 000.<\/p>\n

At that event, Kuvare highlighted that the foundation continues to invest in Namibian children\u2019s education to make learning easier.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have renewed our focus for 2023, aligned ourselves with national development targets to be relevant and support the upliftment of communities where they serve,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kuvare highlighted that the donation would enhance learning experiences for both the teachers and learners while handing over the calculators, projectors, laboratory coats and mathematics sets.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe value our long-standing and strong association with the government and like-minded partners working towards the improvement of teaching and learning in schools,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kuvare further maintained that the foundation this year aims at donating 12 239 textbooks to 17 schools, and 490 calculators and 1 000 mathematics sets to 13 schools across the country.<\/p>\n

On his part, Nangolo SS school principal Wilbard Nailenge said the school has been perceived as one of the underperforming schools in the region for quite some time now, and the donation has come at the right time to make teaching easier for learners at the school.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe school is blessed with a committed and determined teaching staff, aimed at delivering quality, accessible and inclusive education to their learners,\u201d said Nailenge.<\/p>\n
