Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>In their efforts to keep their bodies fit and bring the spirit of togetherness among former players, Old Crock\u2019s football clubs will compete in the second anniversary of the \u2018The Jungle Pot Guy\u2019 tournament in the capital on Saturday.<\/p>\n The one-day knockout competition has attracted eight football teams, who will vie for N$8 000, a trophy and medals at Emma Hoogenhout Primary School soccer field in Hochland Park.<\/p>\n Billa Kandjii, who is the tournament organiser, said that despite legendary players coming together, the competition is also a platform where former players showcase their talent to the upcoming young players.<\/p>\n \u201cThe youth need our guidance in terms of skill display and also learn from the legends how football was played, which will help them in their future endeavours\u2019,\u201d Kandjii said.<\/p>\n He alluded that this tournament is strictly for the over-30 age groups, and players who are playing active leagues will not be allowed.<\/p>\n \u201cYoung players must only come there as spectators and learn from their legendary players. The organising committee will check the national documents for all the players before any match kicks off,\u201d the organiser urged.<\/p>\n Kandjii added the final winner will pocket a cash prize of N$ 3000, a trophy and 18 gold medals, whereas the runners-up will take home N$2 000 with 18 silver medals.<\/p>\n Also, the organiser added there will be a special trophy for the player of the competition plus a cash prize of N$300.<\/p>\n The organiser further called on football lovers to come in numbers and spend their day with legends.<\/p>\n The participating teams are Oviketana, El Maestro, V6 Club, Friendly Lions, Monis FC, Parliament, Ovitoto and Onjose jo Ngua.<\/p>\n \u201cTight security will be in place; we will have food stalls, and the kids will not be hungry.
