Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The Oshakati town council re-elected Swapo\u2019s Leonard Hango as mayor for the third time yesterday.<\/p>\n

He will be deputised by fellow Swapo councillor Puyeipawa Elifas, who also retained her position.<\/p>\n

Maria Mutumbulwa, Hofeni Mutota and Ruusa Frans likewise remain members of the management committee.<\/p>\n

Independent Patriots for Change councillors Jerobeam Ndaamohamba and Pinehas Aluvilu are ordinary members.<\/p>\n

In his acceptance speech, Hango promised to work tirelessly on behalf of each resident of Oshakati.<\/p>\n

He then called for cooperation from all residents to take the town to greater heights.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour voices, ideas and concerns are invaluable. Together, we will shape the future of Oshakati, ensuring that it remains a place of opportunity and prosperity for all,\u201d the mayor said.<\/p>\n

Hango then urged community members to always honour their municipal services\u2019 accounts, because it is through paying for these services that they can grow their town.<\/p>\n

He furthermore promised that council would focus on improving essential services, investing in infrastructure, and creating opportunities for economic growth and sustainable development.<\/p>\n

Also, the promotion of environmental sustainability will be at the forefront of their agenda, and they will continue to explore new initiatives and implement policies that protect the town in various ways.<\/p>\n
