Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Hope Football Club of Oshakati kept its perfect record intact after winning both of its weekend matches to take the lead in the newly-created Oshana Regional Namibia Football Association (NFA) Women\u2019s Football League.<\/p>\n

According to the league\u2019s public relations officer, Felisberto Pedare\u0300 da Silva, the league now has only six clubs left after Onelago Beauties and Victoria Andimba withdrew from the league without honouring their games due to financial constraints.<\/p>\n

Da Silva, who confirmed the weekend\u2019s results to Nampa on Tuesday, appealed for corporate and individual funding to make the league more competitive and offer young girls who want to thrive in women\u2019s football a chance.<\/p>\n

The league, which began on 4 November 2023, with approval from the Namibian Football Association and funding from the International Federation of Association Football (Fifa) to all 14 regions, put on an outstanding performance over the weekend at the Oshakati Independence Stadium and the Valombola Vocational Training College Sports Ground at Ongwediva.<\/p>\n

Hope FC climbed to the top of the league after beating Oshakati Super Stars by a 3-0 scoreline on Saturday and Teenage Queens by a 3-1 scoreline on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Mighty Angels scored the most goals over the weekend, defeating Teenage Angels 4-0 and Oshana NamPol 5-0.<\/p>\n

Bakpro Millennial Queens, who started strongly, managed to collect four critical points after defeating Oshana NamPol 4-0 before playing to a one-all draw with Oshakati Super Stars on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Hope leads the league table with nine points after three clean starts, followed by Mighty Angels, who played one extra game, with seven points.<\/p>\n

Bakpro Oshana Millennial Queens sit fourth in the table after four games with seven points. At the bottom of the league, Oshana NamPol and Teenage Queens both have one point.<\/p>\n

The league champions will progress to the playoffs, where they will compete for promotion to the national NFA Women\u2019s Super League.<\/p>\n
