Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>After an impressive first-round victory over South Africa\u2019s Thatho Bonakoane, securing the vacant World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Super Bantamweight title, top promoter Nestor Tobias is now steering his boxer, Fillipus \u2018Energy\u2019 Nghitumbwa, towards the ultimate goal of a World title.<\/p>\n

The headline bout took place on Saturday in the main event of Together as One Part 11 at Windhoek Country Club, with Energy showcasing his prowess by stopping the South African pugilist within the opening round.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the fight, Tobias expressed his satisfaction with Energy\u2019s performance in the ring, praising the swift victory. He emphasised the significance of the WBO Africa Bantamweight title and declared that the time has come for Energy to vie for the world title.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am pleased with Energy\u2019s performance today. It was one of his best, stopping his opponent in the first round, although he has achieved this feat before. It demonstrates the capabilities of these guys in the ring,\u201d Tobias remarked.<\/p>\n

Expressing his enthusiasm for the impact of the sport on unifying Namibians, Tobias highlighted the need to pursue larger challenges to secure significant titles.<\/p>\n

He revealed the next step in Energy\u2019s journey, stating, \u201cThe win has positioned him rightly to compete in the World title eliminator early in January next year\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the main supporting bouts of the night, Matheus Heita secured a victory over Abel Joseph in the featherweight third round with a knockout.<\/p>\n

Sebastianus Natanael also triumphed in the third round against Andreas Nghinaunye in the junior lightweight.<\/p>\n

Nestor Thomas emerged victorious in the bantamweight six-rounder, defeating Matheus Nghikevali in the third round with a technical knockout.<\/p>\n

Alfeus \u2018Mosquito\u2019 Shaanika claimed victory in the welterweight category after defeating Sakaria Amutjaa on points.<\/p>\n

In the featherweight division, Lieekela Nghifandaka stopped his opponent Immanuel Jason in the second round with a technical knockout, while Martin Mukungu knocked out Magret Nepembe in the second round of the junior lightweight category.<\/p>\n

Nestor Amukoto showcased his skills in the welterweight four-rounder, stopping Shipahu Deacor and securing a victory on points.<\/p>\n

Edwards Mbango also emerged triumphant in the junior lightweight category, winning his fight against David Johannes on points.<\/p>\n
