Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>OSHANA police spokesperson inspector Thomas Aiyambo warned residents of Uulunga Wakolondo area to stop collecting empty bullet cartridges, mortar bombs and rockets left behind by members of the Namibia Defence Force during their military exercise in the area.<\/b><\/p>\n

A military operation called Khan Strike II took place at Uulunga Wakolondo from 25 September to 28 October this year. The exercise was aimed to enhance joint training and collaboration between the defence force, air force, navy, and special forces by evaluating and testing the combat readiness of equipment, firepower, and logistics support, as well as the competence of officers and troops in conventional warfare.<\/p>\n

Aiyambo said some people in the area collect empty cartridges to sell them. He made this revelation on the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation’s (NBC) Kati FM morning show ‘Lunganda’ on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Some of the items being collected have not been used, which is why members of the public are not allowed to collect empty bullet cartridges and unexploded ordinances, he said. He urged residents of the village to report anyone they find in possession of empty bullets to the police.<\/p>\n
